Parent Participation Job List and Descriptions



Prior to Move-In at the Theater...

Parent Volunteer Coordinator: (NOTE : This position is now chaired by CMTO Parents' Auxiliary Group Members, who will be contacting you in this capacity).  Generally responsible for making sure all the volunteer opportunities/needs are filled.  Liaison between parents and production staff. Parents new to CMTO can assist someone more experienced for the first show.

Promotion Coordinator: Assemble a team and coordinate the distribution and placement of flyers and posters promoting the show.

Costumes: Assist costume designers with taking performer's measurements, record keeping, and accessory construction and or shopping.

Seamstresses: Assist in costume sewing or assembly.

Set Construction: Assist the set designers when needed to build and paint the set pieces and backdrops for the show.  No experience necessary.

Tickets : Organize ticket orders to the performance. More info available from CMTO P.A.G. and / or Rhonda

T-Shirt Order Coordinator: Collect orders from cast, place orders, and distribute orders.

CMTO Concessions: Decide with committee members on items to sell at show, place orders, stock table in lobby during show times, and help to make sure volunteers are scheduled to work table.

Prop Master / Mistress: Determine, organize, and obtain needed props for the production. CMTO Artistic will give you a list of needed props

Publicity Assistants: Write press releases or simply help distribute posters around town and deliver school flyers to area schools (Upon Approval from CMTO Management).


 

Move-In at the Theater / Production and Tech Weeks...
(**Please note that Stage Crew, "Flying", and other Tech positions require attendance during all of "Tech Week" rehearsal periods, beginning on August 5th through the run of the show, dependant upon your scheduled sign-up. )

Move-In/Strike: Working with others to load the set pieces, into (Move-In) and out of (Strike) the theater. Plan on a 4-hour minimum.

Backstage Wrangler: Assist Coordinator with cast member preparations, behavior, noise control and meeting cues at the proper time. Assist cast members with costume maintenance and quick changes during performances.

CMTO Box OfficeSell tickets at the door up to 60 minutes prior to each performance ; Verify tickets before admitting patrons into performance.

Concessions: Sell refreshments and CMTO memorabilia in the lobby before, after and during the intermission of public performances.

Lobby Photo Display: Create Photo Board for display in lobby using rehearsal photos, etc.

Lobby Decorating: Work on committee to create welcoming themed display in lobby.

Make-Up/Hair: Assist cast members backstage prior to the show and/or during the performance.

Props: From the wings, manage the prop table by assisting cast members in dealing with their props.

Stage Crew: Work in the wings to assist cast members and move set pieces and scenery. Also - "Fly" / Assist with "Flying" Kids and ZFX Flying Effects.

Spotlights: Operate spotlights from the platforms during tech rehearsals and performances.

Ushers: Welcome, take tickets, and direct members of the audience to their assigned seats. Be available to assist audience members during the show and monitor the lobby during the performance.
